My sister and I decided to try this place out.  She has seen it a few times...  Parking is very limited.  Its along the back fence directly behind the restaurant.  I think there were 5 spots in total.

Inside the decor was ok... nothing great.

For 1 guy waiting on 5-8 tables... he did ok.
The sides come when your food arrives.  It was ok... The normal Kimchi, Spicy bean sprouts, Glazed dice potatos and Seaweed.

Mu sister ordered the Hot Pot with Tofo.... she said the broth was nice and pkenty of meet.

I ordered Jimjanjung.... Black bean with onions on noodles.  It was really good.

The menu is more authentic korean dishes and prices were fair.

Stopped by enroute back to Michigan after visiting Syracuse.  Their parking is behind the restaurant. So, at the corner of from Main St W and Locke St S, you'll want to turn left, then there's an alley on your left, pull up and park on the right side of the alley.

I walked in, was greeted, got seated, got the menu.  Their menu is extensive, as I reviewed their menu, the spelling of the food items looked bit off... for example:  Pajeon was spelled Pazeon, Kimchi Jeon was spelled Kimchizeon, and Tteokbokki (ddukbokki) was spelled Topokki.  I brushed it off as Canadian thing ;-)  After going back and forth, I went with their spicy Squid Stirfry.

Table settings - you get your main, a bowl of rice and 3 banchan items - potatoes, bean sprouts and napa kimchi.

Banchan - they were decent, nothing special to write about.

Spicy Squid - the squid to vegetable ratio were excellent, the dish wasn't over powered by too much vegetables, where you had to hunt for the squid.  This dish is spicy, so be mindful of that and the sauce was on the sweet side.  Overall, it was a decent dish, if it wasn't sweet, it would been a perfect dish.

Overall, not a bad place.  Couple of things that knocked the ratings down for me.

    1. Lack of service - they only have one waitress and when I was visiting, 5 tables were occupied.

    2. Disappearing Act - the waitress was nowhere to be found after your food was brought out.  I needed a refill on water and more napkins, but the waitress was in the back behind the bar counter and I couldn't make eye contact and could only flag her down when she came to my side side of the restaurant.

The restaurant is not owned by Koreans, but that's fine as long as they can cook and deliver the product they are offering.  If you are trying Korean food for the first time, then I would recommend you head up to Toronto.

I decided to stop by this Korean place for dinner with my girlfriend. Unfortunately, I was very disappointed with the service that this place had to offer. We had to ask the server multiple times for the side dishes to arrive and the server would not even apologize for the delay but just say "it's coming" and walk away. When the food came, we asked for extra sauce and the server forgot the request and had to be reminded again. Overall, the waiters need to improve their attitude and efficiency. The food was your average Korean food but nothing too spectacular. Would not recommend to a friend.

Alirang is definitely my favourite korean restaurant in Hamilton. It has become my go to whenever I am craving pork bone soup! I love the bulgogi and seafood pancake! The pork meat falls off the bone and the soup is just the right spicyness. I always get my gamjatang with rice cake or glass noodles. They only have 2 parking spots in the back but there is side street parking closeby. The service is not the best but that is because there is usually only have one server, they definitely could use another server.

I always come here for tokbokki and bulgogi bibimbap. Both items never disappoint! The side dishes are all amazing and they are always happy to replenish them for us. Because there is always 1 server working they often dont get a chance to clean the tables quicker (so you could be sitting beside a bowl of bones and broth for a while). I would also suggest if you are coming out of town to always call and check if the place is open. It's happened to me on multiple times over the years where we come by to eat and they are closed for the day/week.
